Our Team

Sarah Carter graduated summa cum laude from the Florida State University College of law in 2020. She served on the executive board of the Florida State University Law Review and worked as a teaching assistant for the university’s Juris Master program. Prior to her graduation she worked at Novey+Gonzalez as a law clerk and now works as an associate attorney. Ms. Carter exclusively practices marital and family law.

Prior to joining Novey Law, she was an Assistant Chief Counsel with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. There, she represented the agency’s interests across the country in corporate reorganizations under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code and in ERISA litigation. Since joining Novey Law in 2007, she has applied her prior experience in corporate financial and regulatory transactions to complex family matters relating to property division, alimony, and custody and support of children.  writes and presents
